I am a professional editor based in the Triangle area of North Carolina, currently working for RTI International, a research foundation, editing deliverables and internal documents for staff working across the world in areas of health, education, environment, and more. I believe in clarity, correctness, and compassion in my editing.
My previous work, detailed in my bio below, covered the fields of creative nonfiction, local journalism, nonprofit work, technical editing, and academic editing.

About Me
My name is Leigh Lassiter, "Leigh" said as in "Raleigh." Before I was a professional editor, I was the kid sneaking books everywhere and the classmate who'd help you compose that poem or punch up that essay. Now I bring my passion for clear, powerful communication to books, articles, and more.
My curiosity and sense of community have helped me succeed in Triangle-based companies for technical editing (2016-2018) and journalism (2017-2021). Freelance clients count on me whether I'm helping them tighten their life stories or heighten their medical papers. I have also been interviewed several times regarding my work with a local nonprofit sending books to incarcerated people (additional interviews: 1, 2).
